Jessy, the only thing you need to do to get the pecan waffle recipe perfect is to toast the pecans for about 5 minutes in a 350 degree oven. That'll crisp 'em up and make them taste better. Then sprinkle them into the batter as it sits on the waffle iron. That way you can customize the waffles to taste.
